Feeling the afterglow of yesterday’s win over GP, Sunday Edition includes a great photograph from the post-game, the Cross Country team retains its MoCo private school title, another artistic athlete feature,  Bear FB trax, Bear FB opponents records, and Bear Rugby Trax.

Have to share this great picture of Domo Seagears’14 who played both ways and contributed significantly to the win, but his smile says all of that much more eloquently:

Artistic Athletes

This is another  in a series of features which highlight the multidimensional nature of our Bears. Today it is Walter Spak, the very talented soccer goalkeeper who is also talented with paint brushes:

The Mules rebounded from a couple of tough losses returning home to play Univ. of New England. The game, although slowed down by frequent scrums, was almost exclusively under Colby’s control. The significantly smaller Colby scrum won the ball nearly every time, regardless of which team fed the ball, and both forward and back play were impressive. Captain Sam Poulin ’14 led the pack by example with a first-half try while freshman flanker Darrien Pipkins scored a spectacular try at the end of the game, running well over half the length of the field. With Jack Sears ‘17 returning to the squad he took conversion kicks and started at fly-half. The defense again stood strong, holding back the UNE attack on the goal line and outwards, and despite several challenging attacking sequences, did not allow a single point. With Sears converting two of his three penalty kick attempts and nailing both try conversion kicks, the scoreline finished at 20-0. It could indeed have been higher – prop Ben Wardwell ’17 put down a try in the second half, but amidst the garbage pile of bodies the referee could not see the touched-down ball and did not award the try. The emphatic win put the Mules’ record at 2-3-1 to end the fall season.
