Preview Woodberry Forest @ Landon 10/15 4pm
A year ago Woodberry Forest was undefeated in eight games; they lost one in overtime, 28-21. Is it likely that Coach Clint Alexander will remind the 2010 Tigers of how pain and anger they felt on October 17, 2009 as the Bears drove away from Orange, VA on the home team’s Parent Day? Is it fair to guess that he will fire up his charges by pointing out that this season McDonogh trounced Woodberry 33-7 and two weeks later the Eagles barely beat the Bears? There is little doubt that the Tigers will be highly motivated as they hit Triplett Field!
A school, that has sent 15 alumni to play on Div I and III football powerhouses like VaTech, UVa, UNC, Davidson and Amherst, might be weakened by the fact that there are only 7 returning starters from the 2009 team (3O,4D). However, this year’s 3-1 team has lots of talent on its roster. According to Rivals.com, as many as four of the seniors are being recruited by VaTech, Penn State and Kentucky. Big #78 Jason Creeden (6’4, 275, OG) was considered to be such a prize in Blacksburg that the recruiting blogger noted with some glee when the in state prospect visited that school this summer.
JASON CREEDEN
Another big time prospect is #1 JT Hornyak (FS 6-0, 170; 4.42 in the 40′ dash), the son of a Nittany Lion and that school is listed as being interested in this Rivals Two Star Rivals defender. JT
Kentucky, it has been reported might like #15 Rue Hockensmith (ILB, RB 6’1” and 220 lbs. He runs a 4.68-4.7 forty’ dash)to return to his native commonwealth.
Rue
The fourth Tiger mentioned is #3 CJ Prosise (WR/DB 6’2″ 180#) but there is not a lot of information found in the sites other than he may be a prospect.
