The first quarter and half, however, were all Woodberry Forest. The Tigers took a seven-point lead (19-12) at the midpoint of the 2nd quarter, but after a timeout from Coach Luther, it was all Landon. A quick three point basket from junior Deion Wellington started a barrage of scoring from the Bears. Wellington finished with 10 points with 2 three-point baskets.

Coming out of halftime with a 27-24 lead, the Bears continued their dominance in the paint, as Senior forward Chris Hudnut scored 7 in the third quarter alone, highlighted by a thunderous dunk in traffic. UVA-bound Darion Atkins added 6 more second-half points of his own, and senior  Kellen Miller, who recorded his second straight start, accumulated 12 points and countless steals that solidified the 35-12 second half rout for the Bears.

Coach Luther was impressed with the performance of his bench. Milan Bhatt, Robert Leachman, and Ethan Schlager all registered on the scoring sheet, and their patience on offense was impressive. Overall, it was the best performance from the Bears all year.
