Landon Lacrosse 9 Loyola 11

DMV hoops legend, former DeMatha Coach Morgan Wooten, is credited with the maxim “You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.” The Dons from Blakefield lost to Malvern Prep and they translated that teachable moment to a victory at Bordley Stadium (note: the coach for which the stadium is home and recovering well from routine surgery; it is rumored that Mrs. Bordley has placed restraints to keep him in bed). Hopefully, the Bears will review the Hudl tape carefully and apply that knowledge to future games.

Landon held leads of 3-0 and 4-2, followed by a 4-4 tie and ran two goals to make it Bears 6 Dons 4. After halftime, the visitors were successful in stopping the home team’s clears. In the 3^rd period Loyola controlled the ball for much of the time and scored 4 goals while Landon only notched one. By the end of this 12 minute period, the Dons held an 8-7 lead. They added three goals in the last quarter (one an EN goal) while Landon scored two—both within the last minute.
