Landon Lacrosse 9 Haverford 14
Having watched the Bears for the last 10 years, one thing is clear—each team follows a unique path to defining their identity, to find their MoJo, to figure out their rhythm or to do whatever makes the collection of 40 boys work.
A third string middie in game 4 shows he can carry the ball; an LSM in crucial match shows that he has another level of energy; an attackman figure how to move to take advantage of the other As after about 5 games of playing together; a Goalie makes a spectacular clearing pass that starts a goal-scoring fast break late in the season; a coach designs a series of plays which click with the boys after Spring Break. What is consistent is that the Bears have the tenacity to keep playing hard and they find their best modus operandi. It always happens.
To be positive, it was a beautiful day at a special place—Homewood Field.

Further good news, Joey Epstein scored the 1st goal @10:34. The Fords responded with two goals and Joey tied it back up @4:01. In what became a poor pattern, the P-IAC team tallied with 0:01.7 left in the initial quarter and then put another one in the IAC team goal after 0:42 expired in Q2. The “visitors” ran the advantage to 7-2 halfway through this period.
A face break from the face-off resulted in a John Geppert goal @ 4:32. Joey assisted on a Zach Johnson goal @ 2:05.
As with the last few seconds of the previous period, the “Fords deposited their 8th goal at 0:15.2. After halftime, the visitors beat the Bear goalie at 0:13 expired of period three. ‘Fords earned goals 10 and 11 at 6:37 and 3:55.
The Home team retaliated with consecutive middie goals @ 2:54 by Stephen Bou and then John @ 00:08.
Joey brought the margin down to -4 with his 3rd@9:33. The remainder of the game was a series of points-counterpoints. ‘Fords at 8:02; Zach @ 7:25; Haverford at 5:12; Joey @7:06; visitors at 1:05.
Two random observations-
Landon had more difficulty clearing that usual and the ‘Fords cleared all without failure
The referees called several CLOCK ONs against Haverford and in each instance, there was no violation because they scored.
