The 16 Little Hoyas seniors only allowed an opponent to score more than 9 goals and they lost both of those games. The Michael Buffer of Rockville Pike let the crowd and the neighbors know about every other point of praise for Prep plus frequent playing of the WWE anthem.
To emphasize the Ursine Positives, the visitors
-got their 1st goal @2:21 of Q1 when SEAN MURRAY came from X, flushing the goalie and beat the two GP players to score
1-4 at end of first period
-the Bears were 1st on the board in Q2 when SEAN fed ANTHONY PANETTI @11:19
–the Landon streak continued as WILL COHEN robbed his opponent of the ball, zoomed across the midline, dodged another Hoya, passed the ball to DAVIS OWENS for a Pole-to-pole goal @10:06, score at that point Bears 3 Rockville Bulldogs (their real mascot)5
-@2:20 of Q2 Anthony P’s speed created enough separation for visitors’ 4th tally
4-9 at half
-@7:50 after half CHASE ROBERTSON drove down the left alley and with strong stickwork got a shot range goal
5-11 after 36 minutes
–tenacious Bears continued to battle- TROY ULISNEY from ANTHONY P @9:26
-back-to-back goal when @9:12 FO stud TALAN SMITH (14 wins-very unofficial#)beat his man at X passed the ball to SEAN who buried it,
–CHASE showed his speed, beat the GP middie trying to cover him and scored @4:41
-the last goal was another Anthony P shot @1:52 assist to?
Facing a very tough IAC league schedule, the young Bears (only 8 seniors) have grown immensely from game 1. The D has not only been extraordinarily solid, but it has contributed an unusually high number of G’s and A’s. The 2024 season portends to be quite promising. The test of great coaching—lacrosse, hockey, basketball, football…- is to see improvement in the players’ execution. The last games of 2023 evidenced the better grasp of O and D roles. Looking forward to a good season next year.
