Landon Lacrosse 5 Georgetown Prep 11

The Bears traveled up Rockville Pike to a campus that has a large number earth-movers and other construction equipment ready to expand the buildings and fields. The Little Hoyas presented a major challenge with a roster heavily populated by big seniors and with a long list of 12 commitments. The Bears appeared to have left their preferred sticks, because there was an abundance of bad passes and shots that missed the 6’ x 6’ way too often. One theory might have been that the visitors were young and nervous, but the miscues were equally distributed among all 4 Landon classes.

Prep scored early but Cameron Brown drove through several GP defenders to score from point blank range @9:11. The home boys responded with goals at 8:14 and 1:56,

The parity continued for the next twelve minutes with GP getting its 4th goal at 9:22. Landon Sells narrowed the margin @ 2:09 with an assist from Stephen Bou.

At this point FOGO Nicholas Kopp 4 of 8 against a UVA commit. Hunter Taylor, under fire most of the time, stopped 11 shots.

The home depth took its toll between 24:01 and 36:00 as they deposited 6 goals in the Landon nets. The Exit 16 Bears tallied their 1st (of many) against GP as Anthony Panetti assisted on a Nathan Fergeson goal @ 4:25.

END OF 3RD Q BEARS 3 LITTLE HOYAS 10

The last period saw two Bears goals—Graham Hertzberg unassisted @ 6:41 and then the offensive lineman/attackman senior fed classmate Landon Sells @ 4:48 on an EMO. The homeboys thrilled their fans- many in attendance, few with masks and no social distancing.
