Landon Lacrosse 13 Calverton 6
For the first and second times in five games, the Bears trailed (at10:10 and at 4:05), but the members of the 2015 class made sure that the visitors kept the winning going. Maybe it was the miserable weather (rain, wind, cold); for after the halftime, Landon was unable to stop the Cougars for the 3rd quarter (the home team scored four consecutive goals). When the visitors were hot, they had runs of 9 and then 3 goals, while the Bear D sustained shutouts of 18:55 and 12:00 minutes. The end result was a 13-6 win.

For most of the first five minutes, there may have been some doubt about the wisdom of traveling to Southern Maryland (almost due East of Quantico, VA) with the Cougars scoring first and then tallying a goal to make it 2-1 in favor of the home team. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd goals for the Bears were scored by Colton Rupp (@5:09,@ 4:33 and @4:09). That string continued with back-to-back goals by Ryan Pride (@4:01 and @3:51). Nate Buller received a pass from Colton @ 10:03 to finish the period.
END OF 1ST QUARTER– BEARS 6 COUGARS 2
The defense remained solid, keeping the Cougars from any scores from the four minute mark into the third quarter. Hunter Sells made 10 saves during the game.
The Bear momentum continued in this 12 minute segment. @9:41Colton found Nate for a goal. About 5 minutes later Colton passed to Joey Epstein for a goal @ 4:14. To go to halftime Joey had an unassisted score @0:34.
HALFTIME– BEARS 10 COUGARS 2
The Cougars came out of the break on fire– passes which missed before connected, offensive plays which did not work now clicked. The home team added to their totals at 7:34, 3:39, 2:14 and 0:34.
END OF 3rd QUARTER– BEARS 10 COUGARS 6
Whatever Coach Bordley and his team of coaches said in this brief intermission worked. The Bear D blanked the Cougars for all of the remaining minutes. The offensive momentum was restarted by Ryan Pride with a great pass to Rob Adkins who buried it @ 10:34. Then Joey found Drennan Greene @ 7:34. To add the exclamation point, Rob made a nice pass to Koko Avedisian @ 3:54.
