Landon Lacrosse 11 Severn 6

Coach McGett1gan’s Bear team 1n1t1ated the O and D with great conf1dence against the Admirals; the result was that Landon evened 1t’s record to 1-1. The MIAA team arrived in Bethesda with an 1mpress1ve 9-8 win over StA (the DC Bulldogs also beat DeMatha 9-5).

The home team scored 1st when Anthony Savoy used his speed to beat his Admiral defender @12:05. Soon thereafter the Ex1t boys connected—Kevin Miller passed to Anthony Panetti for their 1st goal @10:04.

Later in the period Severn launched its first goal at 0:27.8

END OF 1ST PERIOD BEARS 2 ADMIRALS 1

The Exit 22 duo added to their total @10:31 with a Kevin to Anthony for Bears’ goal #3. Severn beat the Bear D with a tally at 8:33. The Landon O responded with a Panetti goal @6:21 with the assist to Cameron Brown. The visitors showed their SEEmanship at 7:00 when they found the back of the Bear net. Kevin did more than pass as he registered L goal #6 @ 0:42.0 by a nice dodge from out front.

The 3rd segment of this contest saw the Bears continue to pummel the goalie from Annapolis. The 7th home goal saw Kevin feed Cameron @11:10. Exit 16 struck again on another Kevin to Anthony goal @ 9:31. This offense grew out of a Landon ride forcing a turnover leading to the #22 dunk.

Given an EMO, Seven got back on the scoreboard at 9:08 followed by a consecutive entry into the scorebook at 7:06. With only a +3 margin, the Bears saw Chase Robertson beat the Admiral G assisted by Anthony @ 3:26.

Severn goal 6 occurred at 2:41 but Anthony found fellow Exit 16er, Nat Furgeson,  for Landon’s double digit goal @0:10.3

END OF 3RD PERIOD BEARS 10 ADMIRALS 6

The Bear coaches put some fresh players on the turf for the last 15 minutes. Numbers 5, 7, 25 and 50 (among others) shut out the visitors and  Zach Abrahamson stopped all shots directed on goal. The 11th goal was another Tony to Nat collaboration; this one @10:23.

Some added observations—

Davis Owens against a highly regarded FOGO more than held his own with his long pole at the X and gobbled up 5 GB’s

Hunter Taylor had 11 saves (more than a few point blank), 4 GBs and multiple key clearing passes/runs

St. Mary’s Friday in Annapolis 7pm. The Saints are 2-0 with big win over GP and 14 DI commits
