The Cougars (4-7-1) of Saltsburg, PA  have a win over a common opponent, Calvert Hall, early in the season. They drove 4 hours to face the Bears. The return bus trip must not have been fun since the White-Sweatered home team scored 9 tallies against the Black-sweated visitors’ senior goalie.

Soon after the puck dropped, @12:30 #14 TRIPP SILVA scored off a pass from #3 REID PEHRKON.  The Cougars benefited from a Landon turnover by beating #29, GREG SAFELL, G, at 10:30.

That set off an avalanche of seven consecutive Landon Goals:

Over 24 minutes, Greg stopped 10 SOGs, while his fellow Bears launched 17 shots at the Cougar goalie.

The last period , with a Bears 8-1 lead, was an opportunity to give significant TOI for many Bears. They were challenged in that some of the more seasoned players were sent to the sin bin for 8 minutes. The Cougars “carpe diem ”ed beating the Landon G up from the JV team, did the best he could with the Cougars pelting him with 8 SOGs, 4 goals via the Kiski PP.
