The Bears’ last game was characterized as an early season learning opportunity. The Panthers of PV6, 1st year in MAPHL and a roster with one senior was very much the same. Landon won, but Coach Parker has a lot of video to instruct his skaters.
Indeed, the visitors from Chantilly, VA took advantage of a sloppy home team pass and registered the first goal at 8:17 of P1. The speed and good passing resulted in Landon’s 1st goal @ 6:12—pass from #10 OWEN MOORE to #14 TRIPP SILVA set up #17 RYAN BIDDERMAN for his first ’24 goal.
THEN an historic moment in Landon Hockey, four year player and this year’s captain, tallied his FIRST CAREER GOAL @ 2:28 on a PP. Assist to #3 Reid Pehrkon.
Landon 15 SOGs, JACK LiCALSI 3 SAVES.
END OF 1ST PERIOD BEARS 2 PANTHERS 1
Period 2 started better than its predecessor–@ 9:26, the GWG was off of an assist by #17 Ryan to #14 Tripp Silva (1st MAPHL goal) @ 9:06. With only 0:18 remaining in this stanza #3 Reid beat the PVI goalie.
That was one of 11 SOGs by the Bears; while JACK stopped all 3 of the PVI shots

The last sessions showed how the Bears’ depth was an advantage. Freshman #6 OLIVER LINDER-BODAGER buried his 1st MAPHL goal @ 5:36 with an apple to #13 WATTS “UP” COLCLOUGH. The advantage grew to +5 when #11 NILS BERGSTROM fed #10 OWEN MOORE who slide the puck to #14 TRIPP for MAPHL ’24 goal @ 4:48.
Soon thereafter, PVI responded with their 2nd goal at 4:18 only to see the Bears answer back @ 1:25. This time TRIPP returned the favor by assisting on #10 OWEN’s 1st MAPHL goal and 2nd point.
#30 JACK stopped 7 Panthers SOGs; while the Bears O put 16 SOGs
