Landon Hockey 6 Tri Cities Eagles AA U18 1
Coach Erickson revamped the offensive lines, moving skaters into a new set of 4 lines. Evidently, it worked. The Eagles have a record of 16-2-9 beating most of the CBHL opponents with losses to teams from NJ, PA and DeMatha. They were a tough crew and kept the margin tight for the first period, but the Bears’ O took over thereafter.
One of the new lines showed that the Coach’s sense of chemistry was right when Jordon Rose BLASTED A SHOT @11:05 while linemates, Jordan Dinesman and Will Lawrence were not registered in the official scorebook, their strong checking was noted.
The remainder of the period involved tight checking and some penalties.
Max Weinstein was tough in the nets making 9 saves while the Bear O put 12 SOGs.
END OF 1ST PERIOD BEARS 1 EAGLES 0
The next 1/3rd of the game was all Bears. Aided by a 2+2 minute penalty (roughing and unsportsmanlike), the Landon PP team scored @ 7:02. A D to D pass from Chase Blazer to Jake Cohn resulted in blast from the blue line which beat the TC (or is it GP) goalie—it was an extra man goal.
About 180 seconds later, a visiting skater was sent off the ice for a minor penalty and the Bear PP worked again- assist to Ryan Giles, #3 goal by Joey Graham @4:12. The run continued as Will Lawrence, all even, skated up the left wing, beating the TC D, but his shot was stopped by the opposing netminder. Will picked up the rebound, skated past the goal line, passed to backwards to his partner Jordan D who back-handed the puck into the net @3:28.
The fifth goal of the game occurred @1:29; this time the offensive zone was breached by Nick Khramtsov, who moved the spheroid to Kyle Radimer.
Max stopped 4 shots and his buddies peppered the TC goalie with 15
END OF 2nd PERIOD BEARS 5 EAGLES 0
Early in the last segment of the game, at 12:02, the visitors scored.
The TC team was found to have committed several hockey violations, but to their credit, their PK unit did well.
The 8-9-10 line added the 6th goal@2:23–Matt Brille with the secondary assist, Ryan with the primary and Joey with the tally (this line accumulated 5 points 2As, 3As). This was the Bears third PPG.
Max had some more activity with 9 saves and the Bear O had 12 SOGs.
FINAL BEARS 6 EAGLES 1
It should be noted that Bear Great Sam Anas’11 attended the game as he recovers from an injury while playing for the Iowa Wild.
