With Ft. DuPont closed, the DC Bulldogs were hockey homeless for this season and that disadvantage showed in their play. Maybe a more direct impact came from the Bears’ persistent pressure on the puck- at both ends of the ice. Credit StA for beating SSSAS in the first round of the IAC playoffs.

The first few minutes, as always, saw the two opponents test each other- no rushes and no big D plays. Then @10:06 REID PEHRKON, the puck prestidigitator skated into the Bear Ozone and passed to CHRISTIAN DAYMUDE who notched the 1^st goal on a PP. Later in stanza 1, there was a G with 2 As—GRAHAM HABERLE to OWEN MOORE with a CHRISTIAN BINNER score @3:57.

The first 15 minutes saw JACK LiCALSI stop all 8 StA SOGs, while the home team peppered the visitors’ goalie with 8 SOGs.

Second verse same as the first. The Bears notch goal #3 @14:21 when REID broke up ice and beat the poor StA goalie with the home team’s 3^rd tally. The Bears’ advantage went to +4 when CHRISTIAN BINNER forced a turnover during an StA powerplay, skated down the ice and SCORED @ 9:05.

The Bulldogs got on the scorecard when they broke JACK’s shutout at 3:50. That incursion into the Landon Nets demanded an immediate response—SIX SECONDS later REID skated through the PP offense of StA for BEARS’ GOAL #4 @ 9:05. Landon’s effective PP offense then added to the Home Team’s margin, when on a PP REID passed to CHRISTIAN D @ 3:24.

The last segment saw the visitors try to attack, but the home D limited the Bulldogs to 5 SOGs, all thwarted by JACK. His teammates put 18 shots on the StA nets with two finding the back of the goal. #6 went in off a OWEN MOORE shot, assisted by DECLAN JAMBERDINO and OWEN @ 7:24. Finality occurred @0:24 when DECLAN moved the spheroid to CHRISTIAN B and then RYAN BIDDERMAN scored.

Last period—JACK had 5 saves (total 20) and the Bear O added 18 more SOGs (total 37).
