The Bears earned their 2^nd consecutive IAC with a “MOTTO” win over the Potomac Bulldogs, coming back from a 1^st period 2 goal deficit. For some reason, the visitors employed an aggressive style of playing. Literally BULLIS HIT (convert to a portmanteau word) every Bear that was on the ice. That use of FORCE (Latin “VI”) led to the home team to play with (“VIRTUTE”) as their opponents wore themselves out by periods 2 and 3.

The puck dropped and All State-like Mayhem ensued. The Bulldogs put 6 SOGs and 2 ended up in the back of the nets. Landon was able to equal the SOGs. No one entered the Penalty Box for this 15 minute period.

The second stanza was all Bears. Passes from REID PEHRKON and CHRISTIAN DEYMUDE led to a lethal slapshot @14:31 by GRAHAM HABERLE. Ten minutes later (@4:19), the puck moved from HANK MADDUX to REID and then CHRISTIAN D who beat the Bullis goalie for the tying goal.

D-ROSE stopped all 8 SOGs that he faced, while his fellow Bears put 4 shots at the Bullis goalie who registered a 50% save rate.

SECOND PERIOD BEARS 2 BULLDOGS 2

The Bullis “VI” was no longer evident in their play and their situation further deteriorated with a patented REID blasting into his O zone and delivering the spheroid to DASH COFFMAN @12:24 on a POWERPLAY. The Bear energy continued and the 4^th goal was the product of another swift, serpentine rush up the ice, scoring @7:54. The Bulldogs, unable to score on five-on-five, pulled their goalie during a Bullis PP- shots launched from all angles, the visitors tried to establish the light blue ice as their territory—all to no avail. D-ROSE stopped all the opponents’ 10 SOGs. The VIRTUTE factor was further reinforced when REID deposited BEAR GOAL @ 7:54 and then an EN tally @0:14.
