It was clear that the Bulldogs came to the Bears’ Den with the goal of extending their season for the 5 StA seniors. They played hard for all 45 minutes, but the home team’s speed, skill and solid structure were too much.

The Bulldogs’ relied heavily on their goalie who stopped 23 of the 24 shots which he faced. Unfortunately, the big senior, who is also talented baseball pitcher and hitter, was cut in a scrum around his net. He had to leave with the score 1-1. Hope that he has a quick recovery.

Will Lawrence finally solved the senior netminder’s barricade. Brilliant passes from Kareem Al-Azem to Matt Brille set the fast forward with a one-on-zero break into the O-zone. @6:22 the forward buried his shot in the back of the net.

Following the script of the previous Bears-Bulldogs game at Fort DuPont and an StA skater beat Max on a breakaway at 2:47.

The Bears then scored on a pass from Joey Graham to the elusive Lawrence for his 2^nd goal @ 3:50.

Kareem pounced on a rebound from a Kyle Radimer shot who had corralled a puck from a Matt shot (both qualified as A’s). The BIG sophomore defense scored @1:21.

The visitors came out after the ice had been resurfaced with greater intensity, their 10 shots were a greater total than either of the first 30 minutes. The Landon forecheck embargoed the puck in the StA D-zone, making it hard for their rival to revive.

Matt, who had played an end-to-end game forechecking and playing great D, then rushed the puck all ~185’ of the rinks. The coaches planned to use Matt’s possession to change lines. Thus, as the Brown Commit junior broke into his O-zone, it was a one-on-five break. Odd man breaks are usually 3 on 1 or the like, 1 on 5 does not signal a goal, but @1:12 Matt posted the team’s 4^th goal and his 3^rd point for the night.
