Landon Hockey 4 Georgetown Prep 2

Usually, pregame atmospheres between the Bears and the little Hoyas are fille filled testosterone vapors exuding from the boys in the stands. That male fragrance was not lacking; there were plenty of energy held in check. The two teams formed a circle at center ice and Mike LiCalsi, the Bear Dad read a wonderful explanation of #HT40 Foundation “Making Kindness A Contact Sport.” BEAR REID PEHRKON and HOYA DILLON MONEYPENNY held an event of ~100 people to explain #HT40, an effort to encourage all to be aware of their friends and available to support anyone who needs help. Their inspiration came from a tragic death of a teammate and these exceptional young men took it upon themselves to share the lessons. All in attendance made a pledge to put a hand on the shoulder to anyone who could use a little help. It was a moving moment which all at the Bears’ Den will long remember.

All games between teams involve a number of transitions up and the ice, wary of making an early mistake and sizing their foe up.  The Bears then began to control the puck, great forechecking, constant pressure and a resolute blue line. Then @ 12:29. REID gained possession of the rubber spheroid, passed it to JACK McSHANE who got it to CHRISTIAN DAYMUDE who buried it past the GP goalie. The home team continued to attack the O zone and the CHRISTIAN D (a) AND JACK (g) connected again @4:26.

By virtue of a PP, GP scored at 3:10.

First period BEARS 10 SOGs; GP 2 SOGs, BEAR GOALIE DANIEL “ROSIE” ROSENSTOCK stopped 1.

BEARS 2 little HOYAS 1

MIDDLE PERIOD: the up and down the ice continued until 3:17 when GP scored an even-skaters goal. A Prep player was whistled for 2 minutes in the sin bin, giving the Bears #1 MAPHL PP a chance— Senior Captain CADEN BLAZER entered the zone, found ’24 GRAHAM HABERLE who moved it to CHRISTIAN D (MAPHL #6T) who tallied @ 00:10

Second period BEARS 11 SOGs; GP 4 SOGs, BEAR GOALIE DANIEL “ROSIE” ROSENSTOCK stopped 3

BEARS 3 little HOYAS 2

After the ice is refinished, the clean surface facilitates the better skaters. GP, desperate for MAPHL points, came out flying. The Bear D (ROSIE, CADEN BLAZER, NIKLAS NYBERG, GRAHAM, DASH COFFMAN, ELI SMINK, and ANDREW CHIPPERFIELD, with help from backchecking forwards) stifled the desperate little Hoyas to only 5 SOGs (all stopped by Rosie). The “insurance” goal was set up by CHRISTRIAN D and GRAHAM, buried by REID @8:04 15th with his MAPHL leading 15th G, 12 A and 27th point.

3rd Period BEARS 10 SOGs; GP 3 SOGs, BEAR GOALIE DANIEL “ROSIE” ROSENSTOCK stopped all
