Landon Hockey 3 StA 7

The reason hockey teams carry 2 goalies is that ,under normal circumstances with penalties or injuries or sickness, the statistical likelihood of being without someone to stand in the crease is low. Not so with COVID-18; the Bears’ starting goalie and his back-up (who was game tested) were unavailable to play the traditional rival, St. Albans Bulldogs (2-1 in MAPHL). The Bears were trying to rebound from their first loss.

Jack LiCalsi in his first varsity match fought valiantly, making 13 saves. Unfortunately, the visitors were able to beat the freshman netminder 7 times (period 1- 4 goals; #2- 1G; #3- 1G 1EN).

Landon kept the score close in the initial fifteen minutes, scoring 3 times. Zach Lammers from Bryce Sidhu  @ 7:37; Reid Pehrkon from Ishaan Sethi and Kevin Fou @6:15; and Tommy Trowern from Graham Haberl and Kevin @2:51. Landon did not beat the StA goalie for the remaining 30 minutes, although the Bears outshot the Bulldogs 37 to 20.

Mount St. Joe’s on 1/28 home 4:30.
