LANDON HOCKEY 2 DeMATHA2 ,but Bears lose in shoot-out

Landon has had a long competitive history with the Stags in a number of sports (Basketball at Cole Field House for DMV title in 1961, lacrosse, soccer and hockey). For the second game in a row, DM’s goalie was a wall in front of the  72” wide, 48” (120 cm) high, and depth of 40” net.

The home team jumped a head  of the Bears 2-0 with early tallies. The visitors actually out shot DM 12-10.

END OF P1– BEARS 0 STAGS 2

#30 Jack LiCalsi entered the crease and stopped all 7 of the remaining Stags’ shots. During this middle segment, Landon put 15 SOGs with #13 WATTS COLCLOUGH beating the opposing defender of the Stags’  nets@ 0:24.

END OF P2– BEARS 1 STAGS 2

The last 15 minutes was a battle. SOGs were BEARS 15 STAGS 7. After having had the benefit of 13 minutes of PP (DM leads MAPHL in PIMs with 107), Landon converted when #3 REID PERHKON fed #10 OWEN MOORE and #21 ELI SMINK for the equalizer @ 4:35.

END OF P3– BEARS 2 STAGS 2

MAPHL’s rules now require TIEs to be resolved by shoot-outs. DM 2-1. ☹

FINAL SCORE STAGS 3 BEARS 2

A valiant comeback, but beating a wall in a S/O is tough.

Back to the Bears’ Den on 01/15 at 4:00pm v. Calvert Hall, #1 in MAPHL
