Landon Hockey 10 Saint Stephen’s Saint Agnes 0
The Bears started their IAC season against SSSA and the game was played on the Kettler Capitals the day before Washington’s NHL 1st practice there. The Saints play an A level MAPHL schedule where they are undefeated and score an average of 4.5 goals against 1.1 by their opponents. In the IAC, there are no divisions; so the game counted. Landon won 10-0. All of the Brown sweatered players’ names, except the goalies, one D and one F, were entered on the score sheet for goals and assists.
The visitors scored 54 seconds into the game and by the end of the 1st periods, they had 20 Shots on Goal, 4 of which got past the Saints’ goalie.
The second period saw 18 more Bear SoGs and 4 more scores.
The last period, though 15 minutes long, had a running clock; at goals, penalties, whistles when the goalie controlled the puck and even pucks that went out of the rink, the time continued. By the end of this segment, the scoreboard displayed Visitors 10 Home 0. The final SoGs were Bears 46 Saints 13.
In order to earn a shut out, the goalie has to play well and Orlando Arevelo was solid in the nets, stopping all 13 Saint shots.
