For the 4th consecutive game, the Bears faced an undefeated team with a roster with many large bodies. The Frogs, a biennial opponent, have always had talented plyers, but their current team has some impressive size.
The home team received the opening kick and they drove 9 plays/ 65 yards—runs by UBIE “GONE” ZAID, MACK “YAC” COHEN, AND SEAN MURRAY—plus a SEAN to LOGAN CASSIDY pass. The final 3 yards were covered by YAC for a TD @7:39.
The visitors ran 4 times (13 yds.) and passed twice- both incomplete due to LOGAN’s and JAMES GIBSON’S pass defense. A punt transferred the ball to the Bears at their own 15 yd. line; a promising 6 play drive left them 4th and 2 at the Maret 43. The punt team lined up and did not kick. The snap went to MATTHEW ROSNER who ran beyond the line-to-gain. On the next play the Bethesda team returned the spheroid to the DC team. Two plays later MATTHEW intercepted. His teammates ran their offense through the end of Q1 and into Q2.
FIRST QUARTER BEARS 6 FROGS 0
Second play of the second stanza returned possession to Maret and its ground game moved the ball 51 yards for a TD at 9:53 of this period, BEARS6 FROGS 7.
At their own 37 Landon looked to take a lead and their O moved the line of scrimmage 62 yards. SEAN, UBIE and YAC ran `effectively through the frog D- speed, deception and power. A SEAN to YAC completion for a 25 yard chunk. At goal and one a Frog defender was able to intercept a pass. The French founded school avancé le ballon 41 yards only to fumble. “GONE” recovered the ball and advanced it to the Maret 41 (about 30 yards). A SEAN run and his passes t0 “GONE” and YAC (a TD pass reception) UPPED THE SCORE by six and a Sean run brought the score to BEARS 14 FROGS 7 @0:20.
The visitors took a knee to bring the clock to end of Q2

Down again, Maret took to their biological talented—hopping along the green field—62 yards, ten plays and 5 minutes—scoring at 6:52 with a good PAT FROGS 14 BEARS 14
That fired up the home team and their O moved the ball 63 yards in 5 plays- YAC and SEAN rushes, a critical pass interference call on a sure SEAN to CADEN SOUTHWITH TD pass and the final 26 yards a SEAN to YAC TD pass @5:15. PAT good BEARS 21 FROGS 14.
The other school with a Cathedral address had its efforts to reply stifled by, among other things, a strong TFL by NICK DAVIDOFF.
A Maret punt put the Landon scrimmage line at the Maret 47 with 3:47 until the end of Q3. SEAN, GONE AND YAC were joined by RILEY LUGAR in the ground game. At the end of
THIRD QUARTER BEARS 21 FROGS 14
On 4th down on the Maret 6, @ 11:56 CADEN added a FG BEARS 24 FROGS 14
Ball back to Maret, desperately fighting back, but their momentum was momentarily deterred when RILEY sacked the Frog QB, but two plays later he completed a pass for a TD at 10:16 of Q4 BEARS 24 FROGS 21
A LANDON turnover gave their opponent another opportunity, however, a sack by CHARLIE FIELDS extinguished that drive. The Bears did not squander this chance—drove 31 yards, in 6 plays. The highlight of this series was the YAC man on multiple occasions carrying multiple Maret defenders over 26 yards of gain. The coup de grâce was a 6yd TD run by SEAN @ 3:06, PAT GOOD BEAR 31 FROGS 21
Much to their credit, facing an impossible challenge (the reveres of the Maginot line?), Maret continued to fight back 14 plays down to the Bears 15, but ran out of time.
