The Bears and Frogs played on Sidwell Friends’ field due to problems at Maret’s new field. Landon’s first loss gave Coach Padalino and his coaches to work with their very young roster (10 members of the Class of 2028).
The Frogs scored first at 7:37 of the 1st period and 2 minutes later a MAX MURRAY to ROBERT SWIFT a 25 yd TD pass with 1:45 LEFT IN Q1, GOOD PAT BEARS 7 FROGS 7.
Much of the remainder involved exchanges of punts, but at 6:47 Maret put together an impressive 7 play possession resulting in a 25 yd TD pass at 4:26- PAT missed.
The “home’ team kicked off to ALEX POPE who motored ~ 80 yards for a TD @4:04. PAT GOOD BEARS 14 FROGS 13.

To start the next period Landon gave up a 82 yard drive and a 2 point play to make it 21-14. The next Bear possession resulted in a Maret PICK SIX to add to the Frogs’ lead 28-14.
A comeback was mounted as the 3rd period wound down, an 11 play series- runs and passes- resulted in a MATT ROSNER 9 YD RUN @0:12 until the final Q. The PAT attempt failed FROGS 28 BEARS 20
Optimism returned to the Landon fans when their team forced a fumble—WILLARD FREEMAN pounced on the ball. The positive momentum was fulfilled as a combination of runs and passes (including a lateral pitch from MAX M to MATT pass to Swiftie 39 yards) with the final 5 earned by a MATT TD run A manageable 26-28 margin with 7:17 left in the game.
That hope was dashed when the Frogs hopped 67 yards in 4 minutes and 6 plays. Now 35-26 with 3:36 on the Sidwell Friends scoreboard. A Maret interception dashed a change in the tally. Six plays brought the clock to 0:00.
