LANDON 6 DeMATHA 2 (A) 4/7
DCSportsFan.com ‘s #4 DeMatha wanted to test themselves against #3 Bears. The visiting team quickly schooled the Stags by jumping out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 1stQ. Coach Bordley noted that this was an unusual victory against the athletic DeMatha, because his boys controlled the game from beginning to end. He noted that a number of players stepped up to fill in some injuries and having made the grade can be counted on as the schedule moves through the IAC teams.
Will Joyce made 9 strong saves when the Stags got open from the stifling defense. The Bears had 27 GBs on the dust bowl that serves as the home field for DeMatha.
Patrick Keena had 3 goals, Harrison Archer fired two in and Longstick Kiel Wiegman had a goal after he cleared the ball on a long run.
Next game FR 4/9 H vs Episcopal at 4:30pm.

CORRECTIONAs promised in my disclaimer, the record for the Coronado game was incorrect. The official scorekeeper failed to note that #29 Alex Becker was in the cage as goalie after first 2 minutes of 4th quarter through the end of the game and that he got a save.

SENIOR PROFILE
SAM MCDONOUGH #9 SENIOR MIDFIELD
1. When did you start playing lacrosse?
I started playing lacrosse in 6th grade.
2. What is the brand and model of your lax stick; who strings it for you? The stick I use now is a warrior evolution head with a maverick shaft and Austin Dodson strung it.
3. Who is your favorite college lacrosse player and what team do you follow? Brian Carroll is my favorite player and I follow the University of Virginia.
4. What is your senior project?I’m taking cooking lessons for my senior project, along with fellow laxer Jimmy Sloan.
5. Where will you be next year? Either Bucknell or Lehigh.
6. As the QB in Landon’s complex winged T offense, you had to be in control of a lot of moving parts in the backfield and for the blocking schemes, is life a lot easier as a defensive middie in lacrosse? It’s definitely a lot easier, but there is much more running involved.
7.[new question] A well known Landon Alum/Bear Lax fan wants to know → what other interests do you have…hobbies, favorite courses, other Landon activities, etc….outside of lacrosse? I’m an avid Harry Potter fan. I enjoy reading the books, and the movies usually bring me much delight as well.
