LANDON 13 @ ROBINSON 1 (A) 4/19
The annual clash between the Bears and Northern Virginia’s Robinson Rams was not very competitive. The home team did not have a shot until the 3rd Q and shot out until the 4th. As mentioned in previous posts, Coach Bordley uses this type of game to test some of his underutilized players. The Bears’ starters did not get much playing time; the last two Landon games have been opportunities for these players to test their skills.
Thirteen Bears were listed on the score cards as having points–Austin Dodson (2Goals, 1 Assist) led the team, Charlie Schnider returned from injury with 2Gs and his classmate, Hank Brown also had 2Gs. Matt Opsahl and Harrison Archer matched performances–with 1G, 1A. Patrick Keena distributed two balls (2As) that resulted in goals. Single goals were put in the Ram nets by Pearce Minshall, Dillon Rupp and Greg Russell PLUS the Strabo Brothers (Jack and Mark) each tallied a goal. Single assists came from Will Laco and Tommy Minkler.
The defense was obviously was spectacular, but unfortunately my notes disappeared ( blown away by the winds) as I walked around the stadium. Many players contributed to the virtual shut out. There were a couple of leading GB vacuums on the Bears. The same pages included my specific recollections of the performance by Messrs. Murphy, Lincoln and Lynn. Late in the game, the Rams tried to increase the physicality, but several big hits by the younger Bears demonstrated the futility of that tactic.

HARRISON ARCHER #24 SENIOR MIDFIELD

ON HIS WAY TO 4 GOALS VS. StA
from the Archer Archives
1.When did you start playing lacrosse?I got my first lacrosse stick when I was about 5 years old. My dad surprised me with it when he got home from work one day.
2.What is the brand and model of your lax stick; who stringsit for you? I use an evo pro x head and a warrior kryptolite shaft. I string all my own sticks. I’m considered a master of the art
3.Who is your favorite college lacrosse player and what team do you follow?I would probably have to say my favorite player to watch is Billy Bitter, an attackman from UNC; whenever the ball is in his stick something exciting happens. My favorite team to watch is UVA.
4.What is your senior project?I will be learning how to cook with some of my friends.
5.Where will you be next year? The University of Denver.
6.What other interests do you have…hobbies, favorite courses, other Landon activities, etc….outside of lacrosse?I love to listen to music and play FIFA (a soccer game) on X Box.
7.When you become a Pioneer next year, where do you expect/want to play A or M? I would expect to play attack, but I will be happy to play either attack or middie.

BEAR ALUMNI LAX GAME FRIDAY APRIL 30 AFTER THE VARISTY GAME AGAINST BULLIS
The history of Landon lacrosse comes ALIVE when many of the GREATS grab their sticks (some still wooden?) and run around Bordley Field on Friday April 30 about 6:30pm. Names like Kovler, Bordley, Hertzberg, Hayes, Leachman, Samperton, Muir and others will don the Brown and Orange– sort of a living Smithsonian of Landon Lacrosse. Since Landon does not have insurance for hamstrings, WE NEED AS MANY ALUMS AS ARE STILL ABLE TO RUN. IN PARTICULAR, FAST, MOBILE DEFENSEMEN ARE NEEDED AND YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH 20 SOMETHING MIDDIES!!!!

(a) the content is mine, does not reflect the opinion of Landon, Coach Bordley or anyone directly related to Landon,(b) that any errors that may exist are mine, inadvertent and correctable (please let me know and I will make ALL corrections);(c) that the author (me) is a huge disciple of the Landon team concept and that I will do everything that I can do to mention all the players; however, universal coverage is not really possible through this medium. If someone believes that a player or group (offense/defense; middies/attack/ LSMs/close defense/goalies/FOGO/coaches/manager/ etc.) should receive greater attention, I am open to such suggestions. I will not mention referees at any time and will limit references to the opposition.(d) that BSN is a volunteer publication and that as the editor, publisher, statistician and writer [me], I am all too fallible and I apologize in advance for any error.
