THE HILL ACADEMY

On Saturday (10am), the Bears will face The Hill Academy of Ontario, Canada. They are coached by Georgetown LSM All American and MLL/NLL all star, Brodie Merrill. It appears that one of their goals is to prepare/showcase players north of the border for US college lacrosse. Here is a description (from the school’s website) of some of the players:

Zach Miller- Midfield-Denver Zach comes to the Hill Academy from Steamburg, NY. Zach is a dominant two way midfielder. He was one of the most highly touted recruits from the Hill Academy in recent years. Zach not only controls the game from the offensive and defensive end but can also get it done at the faceoff X.

Ryan Fournier- Midfield- Loyola Ryan comes to the Hill from Ottawa, ON, Canada. He has competed for Team Ontario in both Box and Field in recent years. He is a tough, two way midfielder who is great between the lines and at pushing transition. Ryan will attend the Hill for a PG year and then move on to Baltimore with fellow teammate Zach Herreweyers (’12)

Dallas Bridle- Attack- Denver Dallas Bridle is from Orangeville, ON, Canada. He is a big offensive threat, with great hands, a quick step, and the ability to get to the middle of the field. After an explosive fall Dallas decided on Denver and will look to continue a strong tradition of Canadian Attackers at Denver.

Tyler Fleury- LSM/Defense- Hofstra A native of Edmonton, ALB, Canada. Tyler is a tall and rangy defender with good feet and the ability to put the ball on the ground. He likes to push transition and with his stick skills he will have the ability to create a lot of offense for the Pride. Tyler will be a Post Graduate at the Hill Academy in 2012/2013.
