Baseball- Coach Powers: “We just got done our last week of preseason, where we played 5 scrimmages in 8 days. This week we open on Monday 3/9 we travel to Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore for a 4 pm game. Then we play at St. Anselm’s on Friday 3/13 at 4:30. We finish next week hosting Sidwell on Saturday 3/14 at 1pm.“

Randy Bednar Jr., (L17), is a junior outfielder for the University of Maryland Terps. Randy has started in all of the Terps 12 games and is hitting .383, with 1 homer and 12 RBI. He also has two stolen bases in three attempts. He is second on the team in batting average, slugging percentage (.596) and on base percentage (.466). He leads the team in RBI. He bats second and plays right field. The Terps travel to Texas next weekend to take on TCU.

Dane Camphausen (L19) Wooster Fighting Scots, freshman first baseman. Dane made his collegiate debut on March 1 against Case Western as a pinch hitter. The Scotts are sporting a top 20 pre-season Division III NCAA ranking. Dane hit well in pre-season scrimmages, powering a two-run homer in a “friendly” against Kenyon. The Scots head to Florida next week for their pre-season tour.
Jake Davidson (L19) Kenyon Lords, freshman pitcher. Jake made his collegiate debut on March 4 in a one-inning relief outing during the team’s two-week Florida trip. He pitched an effective inning, recording two strikeouts. Jake had previously pitched well in the team’s pre-season scrimmages.

Tuesday at the Southern Highlands Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev. Katz led the Blue Devils at two-under par 214 for the tournament, highlighted by his final round two-under 70 on Tuesday against a stacked 84-player field. As a team, No. 4 Duke shot a nine-over par 297 on Tuesday and placed 12th overall at 24-over par
