The Bulldogs from St. Albans are a solid team.  They were 11-1 for the season going into the night.  They were the last IAC team in the way before the IAC championships next weekend.  The boys knew we needed to wrestle well and beat them to get the opportunity to fight for part of the IAC title next weekend against Bullis.

The Bears got the job done!  We won 11 of the 14 weights with pins across the board, except one major decision by Jonny Gherman at 160, a win by disqualification by Patrick Townsend at 120, and a forfeit to Zac Osmond at 106.  We had pins from Axel Giron (3:50), Lorenzo Lopez (1:15), Matt Amitay (3:45), Patrick Kielb (2:36), Jerrold Johnson (2:20), Jelani Machen (0:31), Dameon Ming (1:51), and Miles Tonkel (1:23).  Matt Amitay earned the Bear Claw for the night after pushing his opponent mentally so hard, that he essentially gave up and got pinned.

It was also Senior night.  These six seniors were honored along with their parents for their dedication and support of the wrestling program.
