end of year awards trickling in- baseball and lacrosse Bears earn 1st team All-IAC in their sports; 19 members of 2023 commit to play college sports

Bears playing all the next level(s)-pro, college Div. I & III, and developmental programs- the Div. III one Bear’s baseball season ends in 2nd round and one Bear tennis season and career end in NCAA tourneys; two Hockey players in professional championships- one the leading scorer in AHL Calder Cup and one on the NHL Stanley Cup Florida Panthers roster. One Alumnus L’90, as team president, holds the USHL’s CLARK CHAMPIONSHIP CUP.ONE BEAR IS ON UNDEFEATED NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RUGBY TEAM

Spring Sports
BASEBALL—Coach Reed’s team (9-8) put 3 Bears on the All-IAC team in a year in which the conference was stacked with studs.

One of these players will be spending a PG year at Andover with Chris Power to improve his baseball and football skills.

GOLF—Coach Luther’s team is continuing with matches
LACROSSE Coach McGettigan’s squad (12-6) was voted 4 positions (should have been more) on the ALL-IAC lax team

All Sports 2023 Class College Commits 19 to play at the next level–
Nineteen members of the Class of 2023 have committed to play college athletics on signing days throughout the year. Find out where they’re studying and playing!
Eleven members of the class of 2023 committed to play college athletics on our second signing day of the year on May 4th. They are:

Landon has had 106 students in the last six graduating classes (2018-2023) commit to play sports at colleges and universities around the country. The 18 students this year represent 20 percent of the class of 2023. Go Bears!

Rugby
TJ Kim L’22 (Navy Middies) Navy Varsity Rugby on Saturday won the CRAA D1A National Championship over Cal in Houston. This was historic as this year was the first time Rugby at Navy got elevated to varsity status and also marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of Navy Rugby. While TJdidn’t play in the championship game, having made the team and being on the program for the entire Plebe Year (Fall and Spring Seasons) has been an unbelievable experience

Sachin Das L’19 (University of Chicago) 16-6 team #8 NCAA Div. III team lost in 2nd round of NCAA tournament Sachin career record Singles record: 17-8; Doubles record: 22-9; 4 years all league All-Academic team; freshman year First Team All-UAA (singles)

The highest honor, unofficial, was that Mac Jacoby always wanted to know how one of his favorites, Sachin, was doing.

Patrick Giles L*18: #36 Charlotte Checkers (38-25-5-3) regular season–3rd Atlantic Division: #36- 71GP 3 G, 10A; now on the Florida Panthers’ NHL Stanley Cup roster

Andrew Goldman L’90 (father of Ethan L’22), the President of the Youngstown Phantoms and the team won its their first Clark Cup title in club history. The United States Hockey League (USHL) is a junior ice hockey team. Sam Anas L’11 is a Phantom alumnus
