Catching up on all Landon Varsity Athletes: Baseball beats StA; Golfers earn 2 All IAC awards; Lax on 4 game win streak- 2 state champions and StA; Rugby wins 3 in a row; tennis 1-1 for the week’ runners excel at Penn Relays. Bear future Penn Quaker playing at Capital ClassicTPerk

Bears playing all the next level(s)-pro, college Div. I & III, and developmental programs- baseball 2 homers by one Bear, golf, tennis, basketball, hockey—Bear v. Bear on Calder cup.

Spring  Sports

  • BASEBALL—Coach Reed’s team (7-7) Big win over StA 4-3, plus losses to the DC Bulldogs and St. John’s College High school—one of 3 WaPo ranked teams that beat the Bears. 

  • GOLF—Coach Luther’s team beat SSSA 202-225, lost to St. Paul’s 196-177 and lost to StA 203-193. Two Bears made All IAC honors for the second year in a row– Charlie Lynn (third place) and John Bates (tied for fifth). 

  • LACROSSE Coach McGettigan’s squad (10-5) won at 2022 VA State 6A champions Madison 7-3, at home over SSSA 8 – 4, at the home of six straight Maryland Class 3A championships Severna Park 10-8 and over archrival StA 9-5. Game at EHS will end the regular season on Tuesday 

  • TENNIS Coach Miller’s netters beat SSSA and lost to StA.

  • Rugby New Coach Tyler ruggers (6-2) won 3 in a row DeMatha, the Heights and Gonzaga

College

Charlie Bundy L’22 (College of William & Mary Tribe), – Senior Trevor Binau and freshman Charlie Bundy both sit inside the top 10 and a William & Mary school record fell at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships at the Dataw Island’s Morgan River and Cotton Dike courses. Bundy followed up his 1-under 71 in the opening round with a 1-over 73 in round 2. He closed out his round in strong fashion with the only eagle of the tournament at the par-5, 558-yard 18th hole. It was one of just seven eagles so far at the tournament. Through 36 holes, Bundy is third in the field in par-5 scoring at 4-under. Freshman Charlie Bundy shot a 76 (+4) in his final round and finished the tournament in 13th place. He finished third in the event with 38 pars, including 15 in the final round. His single-season scoring average of 74.1 was the fourth-best for a Tribe freshman in school history
