Varsity News
Varsity Lacrosse
The Bears beat major powerhouses and rivals Gilman 11-4 then Gonzaga 7-6 in one of the most exciting, well played HS games in the DMV or anywhere.
Then they met Bear alumni- coached, Alex Cade ( a story about this ’94 graduate) Coronado 9-4. The challenges continue with a Tuesday game against the #1 West team (Inside Lacrosse) , St. Ignatius Tuesday at Bordley Stadium at 4:30pm. Then on Friday, Georgetown Prep will come inside the White Rocks; nothing else needs to be said!
Varsity Hockey
Many Bears play the Landon Varsity schedule and then contribute to an outside high level team. Alex Norwinski, an ALL IAC defenseman, also plays for the Ashburn Xtreme as a winger and they won the Tier II U18 National Championship. Here’s a picture of Alex and his proud Dad, Derek with the team’s trophy:

Bear Diamond Trax
Thanks to Andy Luther, additional Bears are being tracked.
Jack Falvey (2011), Amherst, the Lord Jeffs are 10-6. Jack, who wrote BSN posts about the Varsity basketball games during his senior year at Landon, has not been able to play yet.
Kyle Colgain (2011), Denison, the team went 1-2, but Kyle did not pitch.
Ian Kelso (2011) Washington University Bears pitcher, pitched 1 2/3rds of an inning and did not give up a run in a loss. Then he pitched a scoreless inning in a 4-2 win. The team went 3 and 2 for the week. The senior has a 2.57 ERA.
Jay Graham (2011) Dartmouth Big Green Infielder and reliever; the team was 2-2 since the last Sunday Edition and Jay gets an At Bat.
Max Kra (2012), Bucknell Bisons, reliever: the team went 1-3 with Max pitching 2 and 1/3rd of innings in loss against Navy.
Sean P. O’Brien (2014), Macalester College pitcher. Sean had a rough outing against St. Thomas; the opponent obviously had a lethal batting line-up (scored 32 runs in 2 games against the Scots). The team went 0-4 for the week
Alexander Moffett (2014), Sewanee, the Tigers are9-17. The lefthander is 2-4 in 14 appearances and has a 5.56 ERA. He has struck out 30 batters
