HIGHLIGHTS

Inside the White Rocks—

Bear Hockey notches a big IAC/MAPHL game; Hoops wins one and losses one on the road; track runner sets a school record; and swimmers beat Our Lady of Good Counsel 

Alumni: 

BASKETBALL— 1 pro BB player continues to contribute to his Italian team; one Bear is coaching an ACC team; two college hoopsters lead their team in key stats (1 DIV. I and one Div. III); and 2 more playing for their teams.

HOCKEY—2 pros in same competitive leagueand Sam Anas is on the IT; 2 Div. III college player getting time on ice as a freshman; 5 are playing in developmental leagues (one committed to Brown); 5 contributing to their CollegeClub teams; one playing for a Founders’ League team

Winter Sports

  • Basketball– (9-5) Coach Turner’s team lost to SSSA 61-62 away and then beat EHS 

  • Hockey – (7-1) Coach Parker’s team battled with the Potomac Bulldogs @ home to a 1-0 win with a Philip Sears’ shutout and a PP goal by Sebby “Tango” Kenary.  

  • Indoor Track meets 1/11 (GP) and 1/14 Prince George’s track-  no scores.  

  • Swimming and Diving beat Our Lady of Good Counsel High School 119-59 

  • Wrestlinguncharacteristically no news and Landon.net lists no schedule or roster???

Canin Reynolds L ‘20 Amherst College Mammoths (5-9): #2 sophomore; 14 GP/GS, 27.3 mpg, 7.2 ppg, 3.5 apg, 3.8 rpg, 1.15 steals per game—leads team in minutes, points, assists, steals

Kino Lilly L21 Brown Bears (9-8) #10 sophomore; the Bears beat my Tigers 72- 70. The game was highlighted by #10’s Game Winning Basket @ 0:03 to cap of 26 points, 2 reb. 1A. The rest of the season, Kino, Jr.: 15 GS/GP, 34.4 mpg, 15.1 ppg, 1.6 apg, 2.4 rpg leads team in minutes, and points.


Curiously there are no pix of Kino Jr’s GWB but maybe Sr will have one
