Winter Sports

Alumni Bears 39 plus 2 coaches

  • 1 Bear pro basketball player

  • 7 Bear college basketball players (2 added thanks to Coach Franklin) – all 7 with PT and 5 scoring

  • 12 Bear football players—  1 wins to play #1 seed in Semifinal round of Div. III playoffs; 1 Conference Rookie of the Year; 10 END OF SEASONs; 1 player with possible graduate year options

  • 11 Bears playing hockey this season : 1 pro scoring; 1 Div. I assistant captain; Tier II Junior league; 3 playing club; 1 development league; 4 PGs.

  • 7  Bears had soccer games;  2 played in Div. III 3rd round and 1 onto semifinals; 6 end of season (2 DIV. I)

  • 1 Bear swimmer at a meet

  • 3 Bears competing  in water polo, 2 lost, but finished 3rd water polo conference championship matches

Fall Sports

  • FOOTBALL (6-3) earned 10 ALL IAC 1ST and 2ND TEAMS

  • SOCCER (15-2-3) IAC Champions earned 5 All IAC 1st teams and the Player of the Year

  • WATER POLO— earned 1st place in B division of Eastern’s

  • CROSS COUNTRY  2 ALL IAC and ALL Montgomery plus 1 ALL STATE

Winter Sports

  • BASKETBALL–Coach Turner’s squad is 1-1: battled St. Mary’s (Annapolis) 59-61 and beat Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School 67-59

  • HOCKEY—Coach Sears’ skaters opened up (non-league) vs. St. John’s which was undefeated in 5 games since October 15. The Bears has completed less than 5 days of practice. A 4-1 score was indicative of the relative preparation of days vs. months. This is not an unusual pattern

  • INDOOR TRACK 1ST meet @ Mercersburg 12/1

  • SWIMMING two swimmers already qualify for Metro’s!!!

  • WRESTLING 1st match v. WWHS  11/23 4:30 PM
