HOCKEY

From Coach Parker– Some very exciting news to share- former Bear PATRICK GILES (Logan’s and Ryan’s brother) will be making his NHL debut 10/12 for the 2024 Stanley Cup Champions Florida Panthers in their game against the Buffalo Sabres. He got the call up yesterday afternoon (11/12), landed in Buffalo from the minor league team in Charlotte at 1 AM late last night, and just took the morning skate. If you have Hulu or ESPN+, you can stream the game online when it starts at 7 PM.

To my knowledge, Pat will be the second Maryland-born player to play the NHL, behind former Capital Jeff Halpern. It’s a major accomplishment for a hockey player from the DMV, and one that should make all of us proud!
