 Bear BBall gets revenge against the Rockville Bulldogs- 5th win in a row places them second in IAC; Hockey with a natural hat trick come back to tie WaPo #2; Track, Diving and Swimming perform well in end-of-season competitions

BASEBALL1 Bear moving up a level in the minors on the way to Seattle? 

BASKETBALL— 1 pro BB player major factor for his Italian team; one Bear is coaching an ACC team; two college hoopsters lead their team in key stats (1 DIV. I and one Div. III); and 2 more playing for their teams.

HOCKEY—2 pros in same competitive league 2 Div. III college both players getting time on ice as freshmen; 5 are playing in developmental leagues (one committed to Brown); 5 contributing to theirCollege Club teams; one playing for aFounders’ League team AND scores

Winter Sports

  • Basketball– (16-8) two BIG IAC wins heading into the IAC tournament– beat StA 75 – 58. Then at GP, the Bears’ fans were equal in # but greater in volume which encouraged Coach Turner’s aggressive D to reverse a 15 point deficit through a 12-1 run. FINAL SCORE BEARS 61 ROCKVILLE BULLDOGS 56

Landon’s 5 game win streak moved them to 2nd in IAC with a 6-2 league record—their only two losses were reversed on away games vs. Potomac Bulldogs and Rockville Bulldogs. Excellence in coaching is most evident in the late season; great job Coach Turner.

  • Hockey – (10-2-3) Coach Parker’ pulled out a late PP goal tie ( 4-4  @ Gonzaga (WaPo #2).  Next week IAC playoff home 2/14 5:15 opponent TBD.

Kino Lilly L21 Brown Bears (13-10) #10 sophomore; Kino, Jr.: 22 GS/GP, 34.3 mpg, 16.6 ppg, 2.1 apg, 2.5 rpg leads team in minutes, and points.  In a 80-66 win over Cornell the Bears reached a tie for 2nd or 3rd place driven by Kino’s 25 pts, which makes the soph the Ivy’s #3 scorer.
