WRESTLING Coach Katz on the Bear Duals The Bears had their last competition today before the State and National tournaments.  Typically, this weekend would be the Melee on the Metro tournament, but it recently got cancelled.  Landon decided to host a few teams to get some final preparation matches for States next weekend.  St. Benedict’s Prep (NJ), Bishop Ireton, and St. Johns participated.  Gonzaga dropped out at the last minute due to injuries.  We wrestled a total of 32 matches on the day.  We won 22 of them.  The big winners for the day were:

The JV traveled to Hagerstown to St. James for their annual JV tournament.  The young Bears have improved tremendously throughout the year and joined the varsity in their winning ways.  Of the 8 wrestlers that participated, we had four champs and two second place winners.  James Chambers, Thomas Eusse, Dean Farber, and Zach Abramson took first place and Anthony Akwara and Hugh Neill took second place.  The JV’s last competition(JV States) will run simultaneously with the Varsity States next weekend at Hartford Community College in Bel Air MD.
