WINTER SPORTS
ICE HOCKEY –COACH PARKER’s skaters BEAT SJCHS in two sudden death O/Ts and a 7 round shoot out to earn their 6th MAPHL championship.

SPRING SPORTS
BASEBALL—COACH MARTINEZ’s second season schedule is very challenging and his roster includes some returning talent (per PBR reports) that may test the team on Rockville Pike. 1st game 3/5 at BCC
GOLF—COACH LUTHER’s Bears will be spoiling good walks, with the help of his advisor Captain Scott and other faculty members. 1st match 3/3

LACROSSE— COACH McGETTIGAN’s returning IAC Champions are excited about the 2025 roster and a schedule which incorporates games in FL, PA and Baltimore. A scrimmage against Richmond perennial power saw Bears in all 4 classes perform at a high level. Twelve colleges have offered commitments to these players. 1st game 3/4
RUGBY—COACH DR. SAM TYLER faces a season in which the opponents will try to beat the 3 time MVRA champion. 1st match 3/7 (the schedule shows an earlier match, but no score)
TENNIS—COACH MILLER L’86, past Bear net man, has a usually daunting schedule and a returning line-up with 1 Division I commit. 1st match ¾
TRACK—COACH GRIFFIN GAGNON, a member of the NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team, ran 3,000 meters 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters for Colby the New England Division III Championships, has set the pace for the 2025 season with a schedule that includes the Emerging Elite Invitational and Penn Relays along with the normal regional meets. The ’24-’25 indoor season showed some promise on the track and field events’ strengths.

Moving on! Michael Graynotched a career-high 31 points to lead the University of Lynchburg men’s basketball team to a 72-66 victory over a top-10 team in Hampden-Sydney. His 34 points against Roanoke were not enough to earn the ODAC title.
He was the only Hornet to be named All ODAC, 3rd team- good for a sophomore. THAT’S A BEAR!!!

Tuesday night in Washington, D.C. against Georgetown at Capital One Arena. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
