Tufts (Garrett Kurtz) 12
Salisbury 17
Salisbury owned the first quarter of the game, allowing just two shots to Tufts (neither of which were on-goal) while cashing in on six of their ten shots on goal. The Jumbos got their attack into gear in the second, but the Gulls’ goalie saved more than he allowed, and the Salisbury lead stayed at six at halftime. The Jumbos turned the tables on Salisbury in third quarter. After a bit of a slow start to the second half, Tufts put together a solid run at the Gulls, scoring five times while giving up just two. That solid play in the third quarter narrowed the Salisbury lead to three, but the Gulls took their advantage back out to five goals early in the fourth quarter. The Jumbos stopped that run with a single goal, then another pair of Salisbury scores took the Gulls’ lead back to six. Tufts scored twice in the closing minutes of the game then the Gulls finished the day with one last score.
