Bears do well at Montgomery Invitational Track Meet

The Landon indoor track and field team participated in the 20th annual Montgomery Invitational held at the Prince Georges sports and learning complex in Landover MD. there were over 90 teams from Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. It was the first time in several years that the Bears have participated in this meeting.
There were outstanding performances throughout the meat and the trip it was well worth it for the competition and outstanding facilities. Reed Phillips ‘25 competed in the 55 meter dash and had a personal record of 6.77 seconds and was 22nd out of 120 runners.
Bayo Ogunlade ‘23 finished 77th in a time of 7.10.
In the 800 metersSamuel Cohen ‘25 finished 7th overall with a time of 2:04.96.
Asim Hakim-Florian ’25 took 17th place in the 1600 meters with a time of 4:48.24.
Ari Kalish ’24 continued to improve, setting a personal best time of 8.42 in the 55 meter hurdles.
Milan Matteis ’25 placed 35th in the shot put with a distance of 33-11.5 and Brian White ’23 finished with a distance of 29-08.00.
The team will travel to the Mercersburg Academy next Saturday for a mid-January Invitational.
