Bears 7 Little Hoyas 35

the NOT SO LITTLE Hoyas posed a big challenge for the Bears. GP had 2 or 3 linemen bigger than any Bear ever, their running backs/line backers outweighed the Landon C/Ts/Gs (O and D) and even their skill players had size. Literally and figuratively BIG Challenges for the home team. Coach Padalino and staff designed an offensive strategy to attack the bulk—speed.

In Q1 Bears had 3 possessions (5, 8 and 10 plays) which gained 62, 51 and 56 yards- the 2nd of which resulted in a Taylor Best TD. Due to an incredibly athletic block of the GP PAT by Christopher Wells (he also stopped a little Hoya 2 point attempt with a tackle of the otherwise unstoppable Prep RB)  , the GP initial TD garnered only 6 points. The home team lead at the end of the first period 7-6.

These unfulfilled Bear drives and possessions throughout the game were stifled by the Rockville Behemoths. When the roles reversed, the offensive size of GP trumped the Bear athletic D.
