Bears 0 Maroon 9

The IAC season started with a disappointing 0-9 loss to EHS. The Maroon (2-2) had two losses to big Richmond schools; an easy win against Loudoun County and a trashing of SSSA 34-12. That last game matters if you believe in the application of the transitive property to sports: GP beat SSSA by one late TD. The score board did not change after the first 20 minutes. Both teams’ play exhibited fumbles, dropped passes and penalties. EHS scored its TD having intercepted a pass and driving 40 yards with a PAT “boinking” off the upright. The +3 was the result of 35 yards gained and a 35 yard FG.

Disappointing is an appropriate descriptor for the game, but discouraging would not. Players, O and D, played hard and were not intimidated by the Massive Maroons.
