Bucknell (Sean O’Brien ’14) 11
Mount St. Mary’s 12
The Bison suffered a tough loss against Mount St. Mary’s, the team’s third straight loss, as the Mount scored three unanswered goals in the final period. Sean scored twice for Bucknell, his first goals since the season opener.
Colgate (Robby Dunnigan ‘13) 12
Lehigh 8
Colgate started the season with four straight wins, only to lose the next four. With wins this week and last, the Raiders have a new win streak building. Colgate is one of four teams in the Patriot League with only 2 losses in conference play.
Cornell (Will Joyce ’10, Marshall Peters ’13, Jack Bolen ‘14) 9
Harvard 10
Harvard jumped out to an early lead and while Cornell battled back time and again to tie it up, the Big Red could not move out ahead of the Crimson. Cornell earned their last tie with just 40 seconds left in the game but Harvard scored right off of the ensuing faceoff and held on to win. Marshall had 3 ground balls and 1 caused turnover for Cornell.
Delaware (Taylor Valencia ‘13, Philip Pena ‘13) 7
Towson 12
Philip took one shot for the Blue Hens in their second CAA loss.
Drexel (Hank Brown ’12) 8
Hofstra 7
Hank dished out an assist on the game winner with just 4 seconds left in regulation.
Fairfield (Charlie Schnider ’11) 10
U Masss 9
Charlie had one goal and one assist for the Stags. His assist accounted for Fairfield’s 9th goal and his goal the 10th which proved to be the winner as U Mass closed to within one with the game’s final two goals. Fairfield is tied with Towson atop the CAA standings and the two teams will meet this coming weekend.
Hobart (Riley McTague ‘14) 13
Sacred Heart 5
Hobart started the year with some losses to good teams (Cornell, Syracuse and Georgetown), then picked up two overtime wins against relatively weak conference opponents. This win over Sacred Heart puts them at the top of the Northeast Conference with a 3-0 record in conference play.
Jacksonville (Zac Buller ‘14) 6
High Point 9
Zac got off one shot and recorded one ground ball in Jacksonville’s loss to High Point.
Johns Hopkins (Sam Lynch ‘14) 12
Ohio State 15
Johns Hopkins’ struggles continue as the Blue Jays dropped to 1-1 in the Big Ten, 4-6 overall.
Navy (Patrick Keena ’11) 7
Loyola 17
Navy lost a key Patriot League game which only further raises the stakes with this coming weekend’s match up with Army.
Penn (Will Laco ’11, Garrett Fellows ’13, Peter Laco ’13) 14
Brown 11
Penn halted its four game losing streak, handing Brown only their second loss of the season, their first lost in the Ivy League. Will took one shot for Penn.
Princeton (Justin Murphy Undergrad Asst ’11, Mark Strabo ’12) 10
Stony Brook 13
Vermont (Coach Ryan Curtis ‘96)10
Albany 20
Virginia (Michael Rhoads ’13, Jason Murphy ’13, Brandon Johnson ’14, Jack Falk ‘14) 6
North Carolina 10
Jason Murphy continues to step up his face off game after some tough challenges at the start of the year. He’s moving up towards 50%, helped by this week’s 10 of 17 performance against the Tar Heels. Jack Falk had 2 ground balls, an area where the ‘Hoos have been deficient this year. Amazingly, this coming week’s game that pits UVA against Duke is essentially an ACC tournament elimination game as both teams are winless in ACC play.
