Coach Katz was kind enough to send the below result for his Bears at the IAC. It is clear that Landon is building some talent in the younger classes and the future may be bright.
February 4th 2012:
1. | Georgetown Prep | 254.00
2. | St Stephens & St Agnes | 123.50
3. | St Albans | 102.00 | |
4. | Landon | 95.00 | |
5. | Episcopal | 84.00 | |
6. | Bullis | 70.00 |
As you can see from the results above, the Bears took fourth place. After a slow start, the Bears rebounded and got better each round. Even though we were missing 4 guys from the line up, we managed to get 9 wrestlers in the top 4. In the placement round, we had the following Bears earn spots.
106 Seth McNair 4th place
126 Julius Kindfuller 4th place
132 Jack Albrittain 3rd place
138 Jarett Witzal 3rd place
160 Jake Harris 3rd place
170 Andrew Mitchell 2nd place
195 Justin Moore 3rd place
220 Jules Desroches 2nd place
285 Taylor Greene 3rd place
Jake Harris, Jarett Witzal, Justin Moore, and Taylor Greene all beat guys that we lost to in dual meets. Finalists Mitchell and Desroches, both Sophomores, lost close matches and just missed All- IAC status. Overall, these boys showed they are going to be a force in the coming years. We return all of our wrestlers, except for Taylor Greene, while Prep, St. Alban’s, Episcopal and St. Stephen’s St. Agnes had four to six Seniors in their line-up.
On Friday, six wrestlers: Chris Colleton, Brian MacLaury, Paul Grube, Chris Kirtley, Jonathan Holland and Richie Wenzel traveled to Episcopal with Coach Smith for the Varsity B tournament. They place as follows: Colleton 3rd, MacLaury 2nd, Grube 3rd, Kirtley 2nd, Holland 2nd, and Wenzel 2nd.

As the college lax pre season begins, reports that at the start of the Ohio State v. Bucknell, two Bears were on the field, Luke Howard as a D and Sam McDonough as a M. There were no seismic recordings from the area; so it is inferred that they did not collide. John Nichols will be filling this space with his BLTF columns throughout the season;REMEMBER PICTURES ARE MUCH WELCOMED (with or without attribution).
