December 1-2, 2023

Just like last year the field of wrestlers at Ray Oliver tournament was as competitive as ever.  Every top school in the state of Delaware were in attendance, the three top schools in the Virginia privates, three high-ranked Virginia public schools, almost the entire WCAC, as well as most of the top private schools in MD. It was as tough or tougher as any State tournament.  With that said, LANDON PLACED 9TH OUT OF 26 TEAMS.  Landon entered with 12 wrestlers. We had the following place winners: 120 James Hanley 3rd place He lost a tough ¼ final match (4-2) but came back with some big wins over highly ranked wrestlers, 144 Will Levy 6th place as he defaulted out in an injury in the consolation semis.  175 Nate Furgeson lost in sudden victory in the finals to take 2nd place. Nate had a great tournament and beat some tough competitors. 190 DP Pope 4th place DP hung with the best. He lost to the champ and the #1 seed who got upset. 215 Tiller Smith 3rd place Tiller continues to be a force, he has grown into 215 and looks great.  Of note, 126 Joe Papalia went 2-2 and lost in the blood round.

December 3, 2022

We sent 26 young and less experienced wrestlers to a Varsity tournament in Hagerstown, MD.  The team placed 2nd out of 13.  We had 9 wrestlers place in the top 4.  At 106, freshmen Mark Leary 2nd and John Koegel 3rd, 113 Freshman Domingo Escudero 3rd , 120 Senior Seamus McNamara 2nd , 132 Freshmen Jack Junker 3rd and Daniel Kahn 4th. 138 Sophomore Makana Neverosky Champ, Senior Mike War 2nd, & 150 Sophomore Ryan Zand 3rd.  Almost every wrestler got at least one win, but everyone gained essential experience and walked away a better wrestler.
