BEAR SPORTS NEWS FALL very early preview 08.13.2023

The 2023 Fall Landon season officially started with the opening of summer camps for cross-country (8/21), football (8/11), soccer (8/19), US volleyball and water polo (8/16). These teams face their 2023 schedules with some losses: 

  • Cross-country lost 2 all-state, all county and All IAC seniors, both on college rosters 

  • Football graduated 7 seniors with All IAC honors (1 return), 3 college rosters with one Div. I 

  • Soccer had 5 seniors recognized on All IAC lists, 3 on college pitches (1 Div. I) 1 IAC coplayer of the year, one ‘21 WaPo All Met POY—who is playing for DC United 

  • Water Polo had 3 Bears leave Dixon pool. 

The IAC is increasingly competitive in all sports; so, these Bears face challenges this Fall.  

RECENT NEWS

Young Bear at LLWS on DC State NW team. Henry Rosand is a 12-year-old baseball player who is part of the DC State Little League team that qualified for the 2023 Little League World Series (LLWS) in Williamsport, Pennsylvania1. He plays as a pitcher and a shortstop, and he is known for his speed and power. He hit a grand slam in the Metro regional final against Massapequa Coast Little League to help his team win 8-4 and secure a spot in the LLWS.

Thessaloniki, Greece / Landon School  6’5″ Lead/Wing  Palkogiannis brings both domestic and international experience with the ability to direct the flow of offense.  “Christos is a high level player from Greece who played prep in Maryland,” said Eslinger. “He can fill the lead guard spot and provide dynamic play as a scoring wing.”
