LANDON 2016 FOOTBALL OPPONENTS
High Point (0-10) is coming off a winless 2015 campaign, but there should be signs of improvement this fall with 14 starters returning. Two-way linemen Ibrahim Kanu and Jaylen Williams could be impact players in the trenches.
Landon 2015 win 42-6

Whitman (4-6) brings back the core of its offense in senior quarterback Matt Clayton, along with senior running backs Gunnar Morton and Mason Robinson, all of whom play in the secondary. . . .

Riverdale Baptist enters the season loaded with eight players with Division I scholarship offers. Speedster Tariq Castro-Fields is a threat on both sides of the ball and has racked up offers from a host of ACC and Big Ten schools. At quarterback, Dion Golatt, a transfer from Annapolis Area Christian, takes over for his senior season.
On defense, 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman Marcus Coleman has emerged as the Crusaders’ defensive and emotional leader. The West Virginia commit transferred from Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy before his senior season.
After finishing 6-4 last season, the Crusaders will again be tested by a schedule that features, WCAC, IAC, MIAA and Prince George’s County public school opponents. .
RBS has lost to McNamara 27-40 in 2016

Bethesda-Chevy Chase hired Coach Christian Pope after a 3-7 season
2015 win 30-14
====================================================================================================================================
Stephen’s/St. Agnes (5-5) is looking to build on an encouraging 2015 campaign behind talented defensive end Ryan Thaxton, a Virginia commit, and contend for a Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association title at the end of the season.
2015 loss 0-31

Episcopal (6-1-1)
The Maroon finished in a three-way tie atop the IAC a year ago and the same three schools should duke it out for the league title again this year. Episcopal, however, could be poised to break through thanks to the steady stream of Canadian transplants that have arrived at the Alexandria boarding school since fifth-year Coach Panos Voulgaris took over. Defensive lineman Luiji Vilain, a Michigan recruit, and defensive back Jonathan Sutherland, a Penn State commit, will make it tough to score on the Maroon again this year. On offense, the addition of former Bishop Ireton tailback Perris Jones (1,545 rushing yards in 2015) and the return of senior offensive linemen Chris Fournier and Grant Neagli should add up to another powerful attack on the ground. How dual-threat quarterback Seth Agwunobi performs with another year of seasoning could determine just how successful Episcopal will be.
2015 loss 10-17
=====================================================================================================================================
Georgetown Prep returns 14 starters from a team that emerged as one of the hardest hitting groups in the area and nearly captured the outright IAC title last year. The Little Hoyas will again rely on a ground-heavy attack led by tailback Owen Wright and a stout defense featuring returning all-league selections in linebacker Rob Saylor, safety TJ Dozier and defensive lineman Bryant Boswell. . . .
2015 loss 7-35
==============================================================================================================================
Bullis, coming off three-straight seasons in which it won at least a share of the IAC title, will have to overcome the loss of All-Met quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr. (Ohio State). But the addition of former John Carroll running back Devin Darrington via transfer makes the Bulldogs dangerous. Depth was an issue last year, but offensive linemen Derrick Tangelo (Duke) and Aiden Brown (Virginia Tech) and wide receiver/defensive back Damani Neal (Duke) are back to ensure these Bulldogs are formidable once again. .
2015 loss 10-21
=================================================================================================================================
St. Albans (1-7) hopes to bounce back with 15 returning starters, including the senior wide receiver/linebacker tandem of Dakota Foster and Charles Snowden, who is also a potential Division I basketball recruit.
2015 win 42-14

WaPo Review of the Bears
Landon(4-6) has reason for optimism due to its relative youth, and the development of two-way players like sophomores Jalen Williams and Jelani Machen may dictate if the Bears can get back above .500 this year. Wide receiver Jack Porter and offensive lineman Maanik Lal will support junior quarterback John Geppert, who will also play safety. Junior lacrosse standout Joey Epstein will line up at linebacker and fullback.
