小樽雪あかりの路 – Otaru Snow Light Festival

My first time in Hokkaido/Sapporo, and I wanted to make sure I made the most of it. I’d heard of the Snow Light Path in Otaru, but it certainly was one of those sights that you really had to experience to appreciate.

A lot quieter and much less crowded than the more popularly attended Sapporo Snow Festival, but only a short train ride away from the city! The Otaru Snow Light Festival has a pleasant and rather romantic atmosphere. With all the lights flickering, and the snow gently drifting down, there’s an air of nostalgia about this place that makes you feel at home.
