There was talk of the cherry blossom season having already passed in Tokyo, but it didn’t look that way to me.  The weather was nice, the trees were in full bloom, and the place was crowded.  Today, I decided to visit a renowned hanami spot, Chidorigafuchi.  The area is quite popular due to the trees lining the river, making it one of the most picturesque cherry blossom scenes in Tokyo.  It’s especially beautiful/enjoyable from the water on one of the rowing boats, but during peak season it’s an extremely long wait.

While visiting Chidorigafuchi, I decided to head to the festival being held nearby at Yasukuni Shrine.  The sun was already beginning to set, but it seemed like the party was just getting started!
