元祖寿司 – Gansozushi

We entered this place on a whim, wanting to try (conveyor belt sushi) for the first time.  Not only was the food delicious, but the prices were extremely reasonable.

This place serves a variety of fish that seems to change frequently enough to keep things interesting for the locals, with whom it seems to be a very popular spot to eat, even for lunch.  It was very crowded, but the turn-around was reasonably fast so we didn’t have to wait for more than 10-15 minutes.

Chopsticks, wipes, soy sauce, saucers, cups for tea, and a box of matcha is available from every seat so everyone can just help themselves.  There are also hot water dispensers installed at regular intervals around the island table so one can refill their own tea cup freely.

This establishment also accepts special orders (within reason), so if you know what you want but don’t see it on the belt, feel free to ask for it and the chef will most likely accommodate you.  Unfortunately, although there is English on the storefront and menu boards, it doesn’t appear many of the staff speak English so you might want to memorize names of some of your favorite sushi in Japanese.
