You have to try this tip for popping landscapes!
Hi friends! Today I have a time-lapse of a gouache landscape. You can also paint this in acrylics in the same way. The really neat tip I want to share is sketch in red or pink because it will make the green in your landscape pop! This works because when you have complimentary colors next to each other they appear brighter. You don’t want to mix them tho because mixing complimentary colors will make them duller. If you want to do this in oils you can but try doing the sketch in acrylics and letting it dry before painting in oils.

You can find a real time version of this tutorial in Critique Club
Supplies (affilate links used)
Gouache: Jelly cup style, inexpensive tubes or Artist grade tube gouache (M Graham)
Paper or board suitable for watercolor
Now, it turns out that the board I used was not suitable for watercolor or gouache and my paint was chipping bad. I thought I would have to trash it but a couple viewers suggested using resin to protect it so I poured a coat of resin on this morning and I will check back tomorrow to see how it cured. Nothing to lose, right? I’ll keep you updated. Happy crafting!
