Well, that seems like a weird title for a post Doesn’t it? Today October 22 is International Wombat Day. Though Wombats are unpresented in the realm of being sports logos, they aren’t completely shutout. I’m talking about one of the greatest logos of all time here. The Backyard Sports series of games produced the Wombat as a team option. Often used with the adjective mighty. they took the field in baseball and seem to be one of the more popular team name choices.

Heck they were also honored by the Lansing Lugnuts of the MILB in a promotion complete with Pablo Sanchez bobblehead. Celebrate the wombat today with some Backyard Baseball.
