Winter Berries & Watercolor Masking Powder
Today we are going to experiment with a new product called Masking Powder by Renesans. It is a fun and easy way to reserve your whites in watercolor and it is also easy to remove and doesn’t require any cleaning if your brush. I used it for the snow in this painting.

If you would like a real-time tutorial for this painting it is up now in Critique Club. You also get access to every other lesson I have posted in Critique Club for the past 5 years! All for just $5 a month, click the link above to learn more or join today!

Assorted watercolor and gouache brushes. These Zen scrubbers (get the soft scrubbers) are the same as the Menta and are so affordable! This is a good price on a Menta assortment of standard brushes, it comes with a stiff scrubber which I think is too harsh for watercolor.
I just spoke to the owner of the Etsy shop Alittecreative and she will have the masking powder back in stock soon, so if you were disappointed you couldn’t buy it it will be back. I will do a deep dive on the powder as soon as I have a chance to use it some more. Thank you for stopping by and til next time happy crafting!
